TCM001 The Wreck of the Anson (TTBB 4-part with piano accompaniment)
This evocative work was a prize-winning entry at the 2005 Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival Composers' Competition. With a duration of three and a half minutes, the work relates the tragic story of the events of 1807 when the forty-gun frigate 'The Anson' was wrecked just off the Cornish coast with huge loss of life. It was also as a direct result of this tragedy that Henry Trengrouse developed the rocket line to prevent such loss of life in the future. The work was premiered 26th February 2005 by the Festival Chorus conducted by Dr Roy Wales and performed at the Final International Gala Concert on May 2nd 2005 at the Hall for Cornwall.
