Tony Cliff BMus (Hons), MPhil, ALCM, FISM, FLCM, Cert.Ed graduated from Royal Holloway College, University of London and his early career combined teaching, lecturing and professional performing. For many years Tony was Senior Lecturer in Music at the University of Salford, specialising in jazz composition, arranging, history, and analysis and performance techniques and it was during his career at Salford that Tony’s music began to be published. Tony's work is published by several companies including Stainer and Bell, Faber Music, Studio Music, Kirklees Music and Winwood Music with music ranging from works for solo instrument and piano to choral pieces and works for brass band and jazz orchestra. Many of Tony’s compositions have also been recorded on CD and have been regularly broadcast. Since moving down to Cornwall he has been working as a performer and composer as whilst continuing with private teaching and is a visiting tutor in jazz piano at Falmouth University. He also regularly writes music technology reviews and articles for several magazines including 'Music Teacher' magazine and blog articles and reviews for Time+Space. Tony currently performs piano, guitar and vocals in the Jazz, Blues and Acoustic duo Julestone alongside lead vocalist Jules Varley. He is a member of PRS for Music, MCPS and the ISM.
